Late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, well known as Mohbad, was last night honoured with the ‘Best Street Artist’ award at the popular Headies 2025 ceremony in Lagos. The appearance of the artiste’s widow, Wunmi and son, Liam, became a highlight, particularly as they walked onto the stage to accept the award on his behalf. The award was presented by popular actress, Regina Daniels, and BBNaija reality TV star Bambam, while comforting Wunmi. In her speech, Wunmi said, “We want to thank you especially for this Award. Although Mohbad is not here, he lives on through our son Liam. I don’t like to address him as my late husband because he lives on. “Though Liam is too young to grasp the depth of his father’s greatness, I know that one day he will know,” she said. Mohbad died on September 12 2023, and since then, he has been celebrated for speaking to the struggles and dreams of everyday Nigerians.
