Tinubu swears in Bernard Doro as Humanitarian minister

President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Dr Bernard Doro, a UK-based pharmacist and development advocate, as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

The brief ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa, shortly after Dr Doro arrived at exactly 12:20 p.m.

The New Daily Prime earlier reported that the Senate confirmed Dr Doro’s appointment on 30 October, following his nomination by the President.

Friends, associates, and well-wishers who accompanied him to the swearing-in ceremony spoke glowingly of his character and competence, expressing confidence that he would deliver effectively on the mandate of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Born on 23 January 1969 in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr Doro brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical medicine, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community development.

He has worked extensively in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom, earning a reputation for professionalism and service to humanity.

Dr Doro holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA with a focus on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice. He is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with hands-on experience in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), where he has served across urgent-care centres, GP practices, and hospital departments.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr Doro is widely recognised for his commitment to youth mentorship, diaspora engagement, and community service projects aimed at improving healthcare access and education in underserved communities.

As of press time, friends and well-wishers had begun gathering at the Rainbow Event Marquee, Plot 1193A, Off Southern Parkway, Garki Area 8, Abuja, for a reception to celebrate the momentous occasion.
