‎Barcelona retain Spanish Super Cup with 3-2 clasico victory

Barcelona claimed their 16th Spanish Super Cup title a record-extending triumph after a dramatic 3-2 win over Real Madrid in the final held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

‎Robert Lewandowski expressed his delight after opening the scoring and contributing to the victory.

‎“We’re very happy, another trophy. It’s always a big game against Madrid,” Lewandowski told Movistar.

‎“We played well in the first half, the second too, we were looking for more goals but we won and that’s the most important thing.”

‎Raphinha starred with a brace, while Lewandowski also found the net for the Catalans under coach Hansi Flick.

‎The match was full of action: Raphinha opened the scoring in the 36th minute, only for Vinicius Junior to equalize with a brilliant individual goal just before halftime.

‎ Lewandowski quickly restored Barcelona’s lead in first-half stoppage time with a deft chip, but Gonzalo Garcia leveled for Madrid seconds later.

‎Raphinha sealed the win in the 73rd minute with a deflected strike. Despite a late red card for Frenkie de Jong and Kylian Mbappe’s substitute appearance, Barcelona held firm to secure the trophy their fourth under Flick and extend their dominance in this competition.

‎This back-to-back Super Cup success provides a strong platform as Barcelona aim for further honors in the season ahead.
