The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of five Special Advisers to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery across the state.

The announcement was contained in an official statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Honour Sirawoo.

According to the statement, the newly appointed advisers are Barrister Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Professor Peter Medee, Barrister Emmanuel Frank Fubara, Hon. Victor Ekaro, and Dr. Darlington Oji.

It noted that the decision reflects Fubara’s commitment to drawing on a blend of legal, academic, political, and administrative expertise to support the effective implementation of his administration’s policies and programmes. The appointees are expected to bring their wealth of experience and professional competence to bear in advising the governor on key areas of governance.

The statement further disclosed that the five Special Advisers will be formally sworn in on Friday, January 2, 2026.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at exactly 12:00 noon at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt. All appointees are expected to be seated by 11:30 a.m. ahead of the ceremony.

The appointments take effect immediately, underscoring the administration’s resolve to hit the ground running as it consolidates efforts to deliver good governance and development across Rivers State.

The announcement has since been confirmed by Rivers State Television, which noted that the new advisers will play strategic roles in supporting Governor Fubara’s vision for a more inclusive, transparent, and development-driven administration.
