The Federal Government (FG) has confirmed that the Kaduna–Kano Standard Gauge Rail Line will be completed in 2026. Minister of Transportation, Sa’idu Alkali, made the announcement during the ongoing government-citizen engagement forum in Kaduna. Alkali disclosed that when President Bola Tinubu assumed office on 29 May 2023, the project was only 15% complete. He also revealed that funding to expedite the project has been secured through a bilateral agreement with the Chinese government.
