‎Despite having one match left to play, Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, have secured the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-20 Women’s Cup title after a commanding 3–0 victory over Ghana’s Black Princesses on Tuesday.

‎The match, played at the Stade Omnisports d’Adjohoun in Benin Republic, completed a double for the Falconets, who had earlier defeated Ghana 3–1 in their opening game of the tournament.

‎With this latest win, Falconets have collected nine points from three matches and will wrap up their group-stage campaign against Benin Republic on Wednesday.

‎Goals from Janet Akekoromowei, Alaba Olabiyi, and Ramotalahi Kareem ensured Nigeria’s triumph with a game to spare.

‎The Falconets dominated proceedings from start to finish, showcasing fluid attacking play, pace, and precision that kept Ghana pinned in their own half.

‎Olabiyi doubled Nigeria’s lead just seven minutes after the opener, reacting fastest inside the penalty area to turn in a close-range finish after a clever headed pass from a teammate.

‎After the interval, Nigeria maintained control, and in the 61st minute, Kareem latched onto a fine cross from Akekoromowei to make it 3–0 and put the result beyond doubt.

‎Kareem’s strike marked her third goal of the tournament, drawing her level with Akekoromowei at the top of the scoring chart, a testament to the Falconets’ attacking strength and consistency.

‎The competition follows a round-robin format, with the three participating teams — Nigeria, Ghana, and hosts Benin Republic facing each other twice.

‎According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-20 Girls’ Cup began on November 7 and will conclude on November 12.
