Boluwatife Kehinde Victor Osimhen stands on the brink of securing another CAF Player of the Year crown after being named among the final three contenders for the prestigious award. The Galatasaray forward will battle Egypt’s Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain) for Africa’s highest individual honour. Osimhen is also considered one of the favourites to reclaim prominence in African football following his standout performances since AFCON 2023. In the women’s category, Nigeria’s captain Rasheedat Ajibade has been shortlisted once again, alongside Esther Okonkwo. They will compete for the award with Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy.
