Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has made history as the first musician to sell out the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Theatre, Lagos.

The milestone was achieved on Friday, December 26, 2025, when the singer filled the 3,560-capacity venue, marking a significant moment in Nigeria’s live music scene.

In recognition of the feat, Adekunle Gold was presented with two plaques on Thursday, January 1, 2026, one honouring him as the first artist to headline and sell out the iconic venue, and another acknowledging the management team and record label behind the successful concert.

The historic concert featured a memorable performance alongside Olamide, while other notable figures, including Yinka Ayefele and Adewale Ayuba, were present at the event, adding to the night’s star power.

Taking to his Instagram page to celebrate the achievement, Adekunle Gold expressed gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support.

“Thank you all for a great end to 2025. Where should I bring the Fuji experience to?” he wrote.

Following the announcement, several Nigerian celebrities flooded his comment section with congratulatory messages. Among them were Davido, Brother Shaggy, Timi Agbaje, Obaksolo, and BBNaija star Imisi, all praising the singer for the landmark achievement.

Adekunle Gold’s sell-out show further cements his place as one of Nigeria’s most influential contemporary artistes and highlights the growing significance of the revamped cultural centre as a premier entertainment venue.
