The Lagos State Police Command has returned the sum of N1 million extorted from three members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by four policemen in Surulere Lagos.

An X user, Oluyemi Fasipe, shared on his X handle that the officers extorted N1m from the unidentified corp members for failing to present their vehicle particulars in Surulere, Lagos.

Meanwhile, one of the corp members said that the policemen also forced him to release Bitcoin worth $842.

However, the Lagos State Police command public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed that the officers involved have been identified and are being interrogated.

Hundeyin, however, did not mention the names of the officers involved.

However, on Friday, October 4, Fasipe tweeted: “The rogue men of the Area C command of the @LagosPoliceNG who extorted over 1 million naira from some corp members have refunded the money.

“I am patiently waiting for the outcome of their trial. I like to thank @BenHundeyin and @officialnyscng Lagos State for their efforts too.

“I also like to use the opportunity to say hello to my friend in Delta State, @Brightgoldenboy.”
