Nigerian actress and media personality Toke Makinwa has shared her views on gender dynamics and infidelity, claiming that women cheat more than men but are often more discreet about it.

Speaking on a recent episode of her Toke Moments podcast, the media star argued that cheating is easier for women compared to men, who typically expend more time, effort, and financial resources to be unfaithful.

Makinwa explained that her evolving perspective on relationships has influenced her stance on infidelity, noting that cheating is no longer an automatic dealbreaker for her, though it comes with conditions.

“Cheating is not a dealbreaker for me, but it comes with a caveat,” she said. “When I say this, some people think I am encouraging cheating. No. As I grow older, I realise that it is not just men who can cheat. Why are we making these men feel so special as if it is only them?”

According to her, societal narratives often overlook the fact that women are equally capable of cheating, sometimes with greater ease.

“Do you know how easy it is for a woman to cheat? It is even easier for us,” Makinwa stated. “Men will spend money, effort, and time to cheat, but we are the ones receiving. It is easier for women to cheat.”

She further suggested that a woman’s faithfulness is often a matter of personal discipline rather than opportunity.

“A woman not cheating is not because she cannot cheat; it is probably because she has one thing you lack, strength,” she added. “Women cheat more, but they know how to hide it.”

The comments have since sparked widespread debate on social media, with listeners sharing mixed reactions to Makinwa’s candid take on relationships and fidelity.
